"You won't find gold in this river" is the third book by Sausis Upė, who has been actively writing and hiding his identity since 2015. The main idea is that people's values, desires, desires, worries and joys do not change over the centuries, only the form changes, the content remains the same. The work seeks to erase the sense of time by juxtaposing letters found in antiquities that are 50 years old with texts born here and now. Smartphone photographs and historical stills preserved only on film are lumped together. The book is richly illustrated with the author's own handwritten commentary. The creative process took four years. During this time, over 1500 old photographs were collected.
