Prof. Severin Filek, MA (* 1961 in Vienna, Austria) has been the managing director of designaustria –
knowledge center & interest organization, Austria’s national interest association for professional
designers, since 1992.
From 1998-2000 Professor Severin Filek was the President of the Bureau of European
Designers’ Associations (BEDA) and has been an active member since then. He is one of the
conceptional fathers of the BEDA Communication Series in Brussels and the BEDA European
Design Report(s). Author of numerous contributions in books and magazines, he has been a
lecturer and guest teacher nationally and internationally.
